Word and Deed

Film series Word and Deed is created by Tammy Thompson

Series Synopsis

Upon returning from a high-profile mission, federal Agent Derrick Miller’s identity is unexpectedly compromised. The fallout of that revelation sends shockwaves through his world. To protect his life, he’s pulled from the field and forced into witness protection in a small-town church under the guise of the new pastor. With his cover intact but his insides unraveling, Derrick finds himself in a struggling town riddled with broken families, silent suffering, and spiritual decay. But the town isn’t the only thing broken. So is he.

By day, he delivers sermons. By night, he slips back into the shadows, delivering vigilante justice to the same corrupt streets he’s now tasked to shepherd. Haunted by the ghosts of his past and conflicted about the role he never asked for, Derrick must confront his inner demons while striving to heal a town starved for redemption, and ultimately, himself.

But this isn’t just a cover, it’s a calling. What begins as a reluctant disguise becomes a divine assignment. Derrick is forced to confront what it means to truly lead, to forgive, and to believe in something greater than justice.

Assigned to keep him in check is his government-assigned handler, a brilliant and composed operative posing as his wife. She is forced into this role where she becomes a pillar of wisdom, resilience, and support. She’s not just watching him, she’s hiding something too. A past she won’t talk about. Motives she won’t explain. And the more Derrick digs, the more he realizes their relationship is built on layers of half-truths and unspoken pain.

To the town, they’re the perfect pastoral couple. Behind closed doors, they’re two agents playing a dangerous game of pretend, one that grows more tangled as emotional sparks ignite and buried secrets surface. Their staged marriage is a cold partnership based on duty and distrust, but as they work together to bring light to the town, walls begin to crumble. The tension between them softens with new faith, and the growing possibility of something becoming real.

As both battle their inner darkness, the line between fake and real begins to blur. Trust becomes fragile. Love becomes dangerous. And faith? That might be the only thing that can save them both. Together, they must navigate a fragile double life, caught between secrets and sermons, protection and past, law and love. In a town starved for hope, these two broken souls must decide if they’re just surviving undercover, or being called to something greater.

Word and Deed is a gripping, Christian drama series blending faith, action, and suspense. A show about hidden scars, sacred duty, and second chances. It balances emotional storytelling with undercover intrigue, late-night justice, and spiritual redemption.

Because sometimes the most dangerous mission is learning how to truly live, love, and believe.

Word and Deed pilot show needs to raise $2000 to jumpstart the show.

In a world that desperately needs love, compassion, and generosity, we have an opportunity to make a real difference. I’m creating a Christian film series that will inspire and activate the body of Christ to be more charitable, to reflect God’s love in action, and to be the hands and feet of Christ in a hurting world.

This film series isn’t just for entertainment, it’s a call to action. It’s designed to motivate believers to step into their God-given purpose of serving others, helping those in need, and building a community of kindness and grace. By supporting this project, you’re not just funding a film series; you’re helping spark a movement of radical generosity and compassion.

That’s the inspiration for creating my show, Word and Deed. The story is focused on Agent Derrick Miller, who is forced into witness protection as a pastor in a small, broken town. His character develops through inner conflict as well as his desire to make this town a better place.

Storytelling is a powerful way to inspire change in people. The show will have an impact on encouraging people to have compassion and be active in helping others. It is one thing to pray for someone in need, but when you also minister in deed to their need, that is how prayers get answered.

1 John 3:17-18 KJV

But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

This isn’t just another streaming show, it’s a ministry. It’s an opportunity to demonstrate the light of Christ and how to live out the gospel in tangible, impactful ways. Through your generosity, the show will empower others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that goes far beyond the screen.

Your donation will make this vision a reality, and together, we can see the body of Christ come alive in new ways. Your contribution will assist in paving the way to reach those who need to hear this story most. It will directly impact families that are searching for family-friendly content that has no sex, no nudity, and no cursing, and is safe to watch in their home.

Creating films that transform lives is a powerful ministry. As an award-winning filmmaker, I desire to move people with the movies and shows I create. But I can’t do it without financial support. Every dollar makes a difference in helping this show get made.

Will you answer the call and be a part of the change you want to see? Donate now, and help create the film series, Word and Deed, to activate the Church to make a lasting impact in the world.
